Ripple Fiber plans to deliver fiber internet to roughly 50,000 homes in Kern County, California, marking the company’s 10th state entry. The project signals Ripple Fiber’s continued expansion across the United States.

Ripple Fiber, a 100-percent fiber-optic internet provider and network operator, announced plans to deliver fiber-to-home service to about 50,000 residences in Kern County, California, expanding its footprint into the state as its 10th market.

The Bakersfield start forms the anchor of a project with an investment exceeding $60 million, with work extending to nearby communities as Ripple Fiber builds out a stronger Southern California network.

Construction is slated to begin in early 2026, with service anticipated to launch in the first quarter of the year as crews move to bring 100-percent fiber connectivity to the region.

Kern County officials welcomed the collaboration, underscoring the role of public-private partnerships in advancing residents’ access to high-speed networks and digital services.

CEO Greg Wilson noted that California’s tech leadership helps accelerate Ripple Fiber’s mission to deliver reliable, future-ready fiber for remote work, streaming, education, and smart-home applications, as the company expands beyond Bakersfield into more of Southern California.

Ripple Fiber aims to extend its footprint further into the region in coming months, with additional city announcements expected as the county and Ripple coordinate next steps.
