Wi-Fi 7 Rollouts by Sparklight and Spectrum

Sparklight and Spectrum roll out Wi‑Fi 7 offerings with different reliability focuses, highlighting mesh coverage versus outage resilience.

Sparklight has expanded its eero Wi‑Fi 7 lineup, rolling it out to residential customers across its footprint to bolster whole‑home mesh coverage and handle the growing number of connected devices in modern homes.

Its new options include the eero 7, eero Pro 7, eero Max 7, and the eero Outdoor 7, all designed to extend coverage beyond the typical router and simplify management through the Sparklight app.

In parallel, Spectrum introduced “Invincible WiFi,” a Wi‑Fi 7 service that pairs a router with a built‑in battery capable of powering the unit for up to eight hours, plus automatic 5G cellular backup to bridge service disruptions.

Spectrum said the feature set is bundled at no extra charge with some 2‑Gig plans and offered as an add‑on for other tiers and business accounts, underscoring the emphasis on continuity during outages.

Both offerings tout Wi‑Fi 7’s higher speeds, lower latency and greater device capacity, and both vendors highlight security and easy management via their mobile apps. Sparklight emphasizes TrueMesh automatic optimization, built‑in security and parental controls; Spectrum highlights its router design and seamless background failover.

Industry observers say the dual announcements reflect a broader shift toward reliability and resilience in home networks as households rely on home offices, streaming and smart devices during outages.
